In preparation for the new Academic Year 2017-2018, the SJA Personnel had its annual retreat at St. Paul Center for Renewal in San Alfonso, Cavite last June 7-9, 2017. The place was very relaxing because of its peaceful and picturesque atmosphere.

The retreat master for Faculty was Fr. Toto Jaranilla, O’CARM, while Fr. Max Gatela, O.P. inspired the Non-Teaching Personnel with his talks and messages.

It was indeed a sought after encounter with the Lord by everybody.

LIKHAAN KICKS OFF AT SJA

With the thrust to promote campus journalism among participating schools, the Kalookan Diocese Schools Association launches its first Press Conference and Contests dubbed as LIKHAAN.

The VOX Publication’s moderator, Mr. Mark Stephene C. Olaya has been elected as the KADSA Editorial Committee Chair thus spearheading the said press conference. With the theme Empowering Faith and Igniting Truth through Responsible Campus Journalism, Journalist from both elementary and high school outsmarted each other in various journalistic categories both English and Filipino last November 10 and 11. Jamers have proven their superb form in the said conference as they bag certain awards.

SJA: Home of the Champions TYG members win DSPCC 2016

home of the championsSt. James Academy once again dominated the Division Schools Press Conference and Contests at Malabon National High school and School Division Office –Malabon City last August 4,6, and 20.

Winners are: Rascelle O. Espadero (1st place, Editorial Cartooning), Yesha B. Jose (1st place, Editorial Writing,) Gwen Alexa Cadungog (2nd place, Science News Writing), Leone Carlo E. Dayao (2nd place sports News Writing), Fran Chesca Therese Limpo (5th place, Feature Writing), and Carmela therese Papa (7th place, News Writing).

SJA was hailed as the overall champion of the English Categories in the Elementary level for the third year in a row.

they are now training to compete for the upcoming Metro Manila Young Writers Conference and Contest under the tutelage of Ms. Angeleen Joy A. Cruz.

SJA Celebrates 20th Family Rosary Crusade

To deepen the school community’s devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. James Academy (SJA) held its annual Family Rosary Crusade -now on its 20th year- on Sept.29-Oct. 7, 2016.

     With its theme, “Maria, Inang Mapagmahal sa Pamilya at Eukaristiya”, the said activity was conducted yearly to give devotion and ask intercession  to the Our Lady of Rosary of La Naval, Queen of the Holy Rosary, whose feast day is celebrated in Oct. 7.

 

SJA upgrades Instruction

With another milestone of St. James Academy as it celebrates its 90th Foundation Anniversary, the school indeed moves forward to betterment and advancement.

Its Emerald Jubilee Year coincides with the opening of Senior High School Program offering HUMMS and ABM strands to continuing and new Jamers this academic year 2016-2017 and the STEM strands awaits SY 2017-2018.

Various physical and instructional developments were made to adhere and to be at par with the challenges of the 21st century education and the millennials.

21st Century and technology equipped classrooms has been made to surely enhance and strengthen the 4 C’s of Jamers- Creativity, Communication, Collaboration and Critical Thinking befitting a true 21st Century learner.

Moreover, the newly renovated Physics and Chemistry Lab Supports the curious and inquisitive minds of Jamers to aid their learning experiences.

Aside from these advancements, St. James Academy has also introduced the use of ARALINKS and Evotech’s ID Tap Security System.

For Having been a renowned Catholic Institution since 1926, St. James Academy faces the challenges of the 21st Century Education with colors flying  high as it also embarks its 90th Foundation Anniversary last July 25.

The month long celebration of its emerald jubilee year started with a launching program titled Countdown to 90 last June 26. Both students and personnel (teaching and non-teaching) team up for this exciting event.
